WorkBuddy's documentation calls itself a "full-scenario AI agent desktop workstation." You describe a task in one sentence; it plans, executes, and hands back verifiable output β€” reports, spreadsheets, decks, code. It is a desktop app for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows (x64 and ARM64), built around multi-agent collaboration, with an Expert Center that summons domain experts for writing, data, development, design, and business work.

The one-line memory hook: Codex is an AI engineer that can actually enter a project. WorkBuddy is an AI office team that handles the daily grind.

Pricing: half the entry price, completely different meters

Codex ships with ChatGPT plans: Free ($0, lightweight tasks), Go ($8/month), Plus ($20/month, "a few focused coding sessions each week"), Pro (from $100/month, 5x or 20x Plus usage; the $200 tier adds unlimited voice), and Business ($20/user/month billed annually, 2-user minimum, $25 monthly). The fine print that matters: since April 2026 Codex bills by token-aligned credits, not per message β€” long tasks on big repos drain credits faster than people expect.
